PAG 10. THE MOST FLATTERING PIERCINGS IN TREND

Piercings are a great way to add personality and style to your look. There are so many options to choose, from lobe piercings to outer and inner ear cartilage piercings, that choosing which one to wear can make you wonder. But don't worry, in this guide, we'll tell you everything you need to know about the most flattering ear piercings and how to combine them to create the perfect look.

Lobe and Upper Lobe Piercing

The lobe piercing is the most common, and for good reason. It is located in the softest part of the ear, which means it is easy to pierce and usually heals quickly. Also, you can put up to six piercings in a single lobe, allowing you to create many jewelry combinations.

If you want to make a perfect combination in the lobe, follow the “Large to Small” rule, which consists of combining earrings depending on the size. Start with the first hole with the largest earring, since it is the main hole and the most attractive earring in the combination, then work your way up wearing smaller earrings. For example, you can wear a large hoop in the first hole, a smaller one in the second, and a mini earring in the third.

Helix Piercing

After the lobe piercing, the helix is the next most common and is located in the outer cartilage of the upper part of the ear. A good combination can be to wear two or three piercings in the lobe and the helix piercing. For this hole, stick piercings look good, you can choose the design that you like best (a moon, a pearl, a shine...) or a hoop-type piercing from 8 mm to 14 mm depending on the thickness of your cartilage.

But there is still more… If you like the effect of the helix piercing, but you do not have a hole, you can add that touch with a false earring, also known as an “ear cuff”, for the upper part of the cartilage. This type of earring adapts to the ear, since it is adjustable, and you can put it on and take it off whenever you want.

Tragus Piercing

The tragus piercing is one of the most popular piercings and is a perfect complement to give a more daring touch to your ear combination. This type of piercing is located in the inner cartilage of the ear, near the cheek. Although it is a small piercing, it can add a lot of personality to your style.

When it comes to earrings for the tragus piercing, small to medium-sized jewelry is recommended, such as a stick piercing with a subtle design. There are also hoop options with simple designs such as a smooth hoop or with a small detail in the center, for example, a zircon. To achieve a totally flattering look, you can combine the tragus piercing with lobe, helix or anti-helix piercings.

Conch Piercing

The conch piercing is a piercing that is located in the inner part of the ear that is shaped like a shell, on the opposite side of the tragus. It is a very flattering piercing, and it looks great combined with the tragus, with the helix or with various piercings in the lobe.

The most recommended earrings for conch piercing are large hoops of more than 14 mm. These hoops can have different shapes and designs, from plain hoops to braided or striped hoops. A good way to integrate it into your combination is by choosing a type of earring in the same style as the other piercings. For example, create a total earparty with similar earrings.

If you don't have the conch hole, don't worry, you can also use fake ear cuffs. These ear cuffs are a great option for the conch piercing style without having to get pierced. These earrings are placed in the middle of the cartilage and simulate the appearance of a real piercing. They are an easy and temporary way to add style to your ear and combine with other piercings.

To finish, we leave you 3 tips that you can use to create unique combinations that follow the same style:

1. Follow the rule “Large to Small” all over the ear Although it is a very used rule for the part of the lobe, it also works in the whole ear. It consists of creating the combination, starting with the first hole upwards, choosing earrings from larger to smaller size. (Image 1)

2. Choose a theme. The earparties usually follow the same style or theme. For example, if we want our ear to have a more minimalist style, we can make an earparty with more basic hoops. On the other hand, if we are looking to give a touch of light to our ear, we can select earrings with zircons for all the holes and piercings. They can also be more specific themes, such as Mediterranean elements. In this case we combine designs with pearls and drawings related to the sea (a wave, a shell...) (Image 2)

3. Play with colors. Although it is surely one of the less common rules, the result is incredible! It is about creating a combination by playing with earrings and piercings that have the same tones. We leave you a very visual example with lilac tones. (Image 3)
